Biography
A native of Somersworth, New Hampshire, Tim brings substantial recent experience to Shaheen & Gordon’s litigation team, focusing his practice in the areas of workers’ compensation and social security disability. Since joining the firm in the summer of 2006, Tim has successfully represented a large number and variety of clients in administrative courts. Whether it is representing an injured worker before the New Hampshire Department of Labor, or a disabled person before a Judge at the Social Security Office of Disability Adjudication and Review, Tim has obtained important victories for clients based on straightforward legal advice and aggressive representation.

Tim began his career in Workers' Compensation as a law student, by drafting the winning argument to one of New Hampshire's defining Workers' Compensation Supreme Court decisions. Since that time, he has continued to practice law in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, representing injured claimants in both Workers' Compensation cases and Social Security appeals. Prior to joining Shaheen & Gordon, Tim worked at a small law firm in New Hampshire where he was exposed to a wide variety of cases.
Representative Cases:

  • Claimant injured lower back while lifting a large piece of furniture. Subsequently, the claimant underwent major fusion surgery with extremely poor results. Negotiated a $250,000 lump sum settlement for permanent disability.
  • Claimant injured when lifting electrical components at work. Previously had suffered a hernia, which recurred with work injury. Permanent nerve damage required multiple surgeries to repair, with limited improvement. Negotiated a $125,000 lump sum settlement.
  • Claimant engaged in service work for over 25 years resulted in repetitive stress injuries to shoulder. Multiple surgeries for repair of recurrent rotator cuff tears. Negotiated $90,000 lump sum settlement with insurance carrier.
  • Claimant suffered a knee injury working in nursing field. Despite preexisting degenerative changes, we sought payment of surgery for total knee arthroplasty through the Department of Labor and were successful. Later, the insurance carrier sought termination of benefits and we negotiated a $50,000 lump sum settlement without the need for a hearing.
