David’s 35 years practicing law spans service to clients from real
estate law, business organizations and corporate law, to municipal and
administrative law. He is the former Staff Judge Advocate (chief legal
officer) of the Maine National Guard, a former Chairman of the Maine Lottery
Commission and former member of the Saco Conservation Commission. He also
served on the Board of Editors of the Maine Law Review and is author of
Comment, Attorneys and Subordination of Perjury, 26 Maine Law Review 297.
David has argued a number of significant cases before the Maine Supreme
Judicial Court. One of his most notable, a 1985 case in which he represented
the plaintiff in a products liability case against the manufacturer and
distributor of nail gun, resulted in a $9.7 million jury verdict. At the
time, this verdict in the United States District Court was several times
larger than the largest personal injury verdict ever returned by a Maine jury.
