On March 23, 2019, the Henry Avocado Corporation issued a
press release announcing a voluntary recall of its California-grown whole avocados.
The family-owned company came to this decision after environmental samples
taken during a recent government inspection tested positive for
Listeria monocytogenes. This species of pathogenic bacteria can cause fatal infections (listeriosis)
in young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems.

New Hampshire. The Henry Avocado Corporation is warning customers in these
states to avoid purchasing any avocados that are labeled with a “Bravocado”
sticker. At present, there haven’t been any reported illnesses or
fatalities associated with this recall. Even so, it’s critical that
state residents recognize the symptoms of listeriosis and, if necessary,
