Shaheen & Gordon, P.A. Attorney Arpiar Saunders and Attorney Mike McLaughlin of the Shaheen & Gordon Group, L.L.C. (the firm’s government relations company) represented the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 2320 (IBEW 2320) during the sale of Verizon’s land lines to FairPoint Communications.
The original sale price was set at 2.7 billion dollars, the largest utility matter to come before the Public Utilities Commission in 30 years.
Through the efforts of the IBEW 2320, with guidance and advice from Attorneys Saunders and McLaughlin, the sale price was reduced some $350 million dollars, helping insure better wages and benefits for the workers and increasing the likelihood of success of the transaction.
