Attorney Jared O’Connor Elected a Fellow of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers

Attorney Jared O'Connor, a partner at Shaheen & Gordon, P.A., has been named a fellow of The College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers (CWCL). He is one of only four attorneys in New Hampshire to achieve this recognition and the only currently active fellow with a focus on representing plaintiffs.

The CWCL is an organization honoring attorneys who have practiced in the workers’ compensation field for 20 years or longer. According to Susan Wan, Executive Director of CWCL, “Election as a Fellow represents the recognition by your colleagues that you have distinguished yourself as an outstanding professional who has made a sustained contribution to the workers' compensation field and that you meet the College's standards of integrity, professionalism, and character.”

At the induction ceremony, which will take place in Chicago on March 16, 2024 for this year's inductees, Fellows swear an oath committing themselves to the highest standards of professional conduct and achievement.

Attorney O’Connor has spent the past two decades advocating on behalf of injured workers in all fields. Jared has presented over 75 cases to the New Hampshire Supreme Court, including ones that have made it easier for injured workers to recover for their repetitive stress injuries and broadened job reinstatement rights. He won the first state Supreme Court case in the nation to hold workers’ compensation insurance carriers responsible for reimbursing claimants for the cost of medical marijuana and has also been instrumental in advocating for legislation establishing a presumption of PTSD in first responders and expanding the occupationally-related cancer presumption in firefighters.
