Shaheen & Gordon, P.A. is looking for an experienced paralegal to support the Business Law practice in its Dover, NH office. The ideal candidate is a professional with a minimum of 3+ years of experience, a desire to further their career in the legal field, with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate conflict checks, prepare engagement letters, setting up and organizing client files in paper form and electronic format
- Assist attorneys in preparing and organizing legal documents and correspondence
- Maintain accurate and updated case files electronically and paper, including filing and indexing
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Communicate directly with clients, witnesses and other legal professionals
- Manage calendars, deadlines and case timelines
- Coordinate and/or conduct title searches
- Manage closing transactions from start to finish
- Prepare and issue title commitments and title policies
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience as a paralegal in a law firm environment
- Applicable knowledge of real property transfers in NH, ME, and MA, including, compliance with FinCEN when necessary
- Applicable knowledge of business formations, corporate transactions, and buy/sell agreements
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and client needs in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented attitude with a passion for the production of high-quality legal work for clients
- Proficiency in standard computer software, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Experience with Filevine, ClosingVue or other real estate transaction applications, is preferable but not required
