Litigation Associate Attorney

The candidate must be licensed to practice law in NH and have 5 – 10 years of experience in the practice of civil litigation with Federal and State court experience. The ideal candidate will have experience with complex litigation cases and strong analytical, writing, and communication skills. Accounting Specialist (Full-Time)

Shaheen & Gordon, P.A., Attorneys at Law, is seeking a full-time experienced Accounting Specialist to add to their team in the Dover, NH office. The Accounting Specialist performs accounts payable functions, working closely with the Sr. Accountant and Accounting Manager, as well as working closely with the Billing Specialist on accounts receivable functions along with a variety of general accounting support tasks in an accounting department. To be successful in this role the candidate must demonstrate the ability to multi-task, in a fast paced environment and work as a member of a team, in addition to working independently.

Responsibilities:
  • Verifying the accuracy of vendor invoices, check requests, petty cash receipts and other accounting documents or records
  • Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable) into computer system using defined computer programs on a daily basis
  • Compile data and prepare a variety of reports as needed
  • Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or clients
  • Assist billing with monthly invoicing, collection calls and monitoring AR along with reports as needed
  • Other accounting functions/projects as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree with 3 years’ experience, or 5 years relevant experience
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Organizational, verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Knowledge of Centerbase experience would be helpful, but not necessary to fill the position
  • High attention to detail and ability to multi-task is a must

Prior experience in a law firm is highly desirable; however, we are willing to train a candidate with the experience and qualifications needed for this position.

Shaheen & Gordon Anti-Discrimination & Diversity Summer Intern Program

Accepting applications for Summer 2021! The Shaheen & Gordon Anti-Discrimination & Diversity Summer Program will offer a unique summer employment opportunity for 2-4 students who have just finished their first or second year of law school. S&G Summer Interns will spend approximately 5 weeks rotating among our Concord, Dover, and Manchester, NH offices and our office in Portland, ME, doing varied, high-quality legal work with experienced attorneys, well-established in their fields. The Interns will spend the other 5 weeks working either at a prominent non-profit organization or inhouse at a private business with one of our non-profit or corporate partners. This match will take into account the interests of the Interns and the needs of our non-profit and corporate partners. Throughout the entire approximately 10 weeks, S&G will pay the interns consistent with the salary of a first-year associate at the firm.

Upon successful completion of the S&G Anti-Discrimination & Diversity Summer Program, Interns will be eligible for an offer to return the following summer either to our firm or to one of our partnering organizations (for first year law students), an offer of employment from our firm or one of our partnering organizations, or, in the event that no positions are then currently available, S&G will use the breadth and depth of our resources to help the Interns find employment after law school.
