Following a social media campaign offering a $50 donation per share and a one-to-one donation match by CEO and Managing Partner, D. Michael Noonan, the law firm Shaheen & Gordon, P.A. made a $10,000 donation to support the mission of the Krempels Brain Injury Center.
After a tragic motor vehicle accident in 1992 claimed the life of his first wife, Ettamae, and left him with a severe traumatic brain injury, Krempels took the matter to court, ultimately founding the Center with a portion of his jury award. The organization would grow into a standard-bearing model of community support for survivors of brain injury.
“As a personal injury attorney, I’ve seen the impact that brain injury can have on a person’s life,” says Noonan. “While we’ve recovered millions of dollars for these clients to help them deal with these challenges, the Krempels Brain Injury Center is providing them with assistance and community. We are happy to support the work they’re doing.”
David Krempels sadly passed away days before this donation, but in recognition of his vision of accessible travel for those with traumatic brain injury, the Center plans to use part of the donation to purchase a van for members to use.
Community-mindedness is one of the elements that make Shaheen & Gordon different. From donation efforts to the firm’s month of service and beyond, the firm is not only dedicated to its clients, but to enriching the communities in which they live.
