Kirsten J. Allen

Kirsten Allen is a member of Shaheen & Gordon’s business law group, with a focus on navigating challenges faced by New Hampshire business owners in and out of court.  

Kirsten’s clients comprise business owners and professionals in a wide range of industries, including sports and fitness, childcare, construction and other services. She represents independent medical and mental health practitioners, as well as non-surgical aesthetic and wellness practices, sometimes referred to as med-spas. Kirsten leverages a broad range of knowledge, including experience in healthcare law and insurance matters, to provide clients with tailored solutions.  

As a practiced civil litigator, Kirsten adeptly handles contested real estate and probate matters. She brings a steady hand to the complex dynamics and sensitive nature of these matters, guiding clients to their desired resolution. 

By working to understand her clients’ perspective and goals, Kirsten can offer uniquely thoughtful advice. As appropriate, she works toward efficient negotiated resolutions. When litigation is necessary, her trial experience ensures her clients feel confident in this pressured environment.  Kirsten has achieved numerous victories for her clients at court, in arbitration, and has won appeals all the way up to the New Hampshire Supreme Court.  

Kirsten has been recognized for her legal work by peer-review publications Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers. She is also dedicated to serving the community and was recognized by the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association for her efforts advancing women in society.

  • Victory in Probate Court. Probate court set aside the deed to the grantor’s home to her live-in child prior to her death on the grounds of undue influence. Award of attorney’s fees.  
  • 2024 N.H. 61, Monadnock Rod and Gun Club v. Town of Peterborough Attorneys Sean O’Connell and Kirsten Allen secured a favorable result on all issues presented. Their clients were intervenors in the case and owned property the plaintiff trespassed on. Sean O’Connell gave oral arguments, Kirsten Allen on brief.
  • 2025 WL 1392234, Town & Campus Inc., v. Town of Durham Attorneys Sean O’Connell and Kirsten Allen, on behalf of intervenor jointly with Town, secured a favorable result on all issues presented. Their clients were intervenors in the case and owned property which received site plan approval from the Town in 2018, including by allowing frontage on a “paper street”. This approval was the subject of the appeal and the Town’s decision was affirmed. Sean O’Connell and Kirsten Allen on brief. 
  • 2025 WL 593623, Fieldstone Land Consultants, PLLC v. Sebastian Bathelmess Client won small claims case pro se, and the defendant appealed. Shaheen & Gordon Attorneys Sean O’Connell and Kirsten Allen successfully defended the appeal on brief.
