At Shaheen & Gordon, we have spent the last 40 years pursuing equal justice in every facet of the legal system. On April 20, 2021, a Minneapolis jury rendered three guilty verdicts against the police officer who took George Floyd’s life, reflecting an evolving collective yearning for justice and police accountability in this country. Yet, even during the trial and since the verdicts, other persons of color have died at the hands of police. We know how much work remains to be done to protect black and brown lives, and ultimately to reform the criminal justice system in order to achieve more equitable results across all demographics. Shaheen & Gordon’s lawyers and staff are committed to doing our part to push the system in that direction, helping – as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said – the long moral arc of the universe bend towards justice.
